Cloud's face scrunched up as he evaluated what he picked out for himself. He wasn't much for sweets or snacks, but he did grab some crackers that sounded okay. After a moment, he nodded to himself.
"I think I'm good," he replied. "Want to look over the clothing now?"
Oh no, something worse happened than Cloud's mind diving in the gutter: his mouth ran off before his brain could catch up.
"Just because you look good in leather, doesn't mean you should wear it all the time," he said... before he realized what just spewed out of his mouth. Said mouth worked up and down a moment, trying to find some excuse for what he blurted out, only to end up clamping shut with a click.
He turned toward the clothes, muttering about finding something for himself.
Sephiroth blinked in surprise and then smiled, a bit amused, a bit touched. “Oh, I see. And what would you recommend I might wear instead?” He idly looked over the racks they were by.
"Yeah," he replied, "usually like... slacks and jackets that are made from softer materials than business suits. And the shirt is usually like... a turtle neck, or a button down that isn't just white or cream."
Cloud found himself drifting toward the jeans; he was probably going to end up doing a lot of jobs that required him to get down in the dirt or need him to be flexible; he was going to need something made of tough material that could keep up with him.
Cloud was going to pretend he didn't hear that and no he's not blushing. Gaia help him, someone would think he's some desperate virgin or something. Which he's not! ...desperate, that is.
To prove he totally wasn't thinking dirty thoughts, he grabbed the first pair of pants that matched his size, unfolding them only to frown at it.
Cloud opened his mouth to agree with him, before he closed it, taking a closer look at the pants.
"No, there's sewing around the rips to keep the fabric from unraveling. This was intentional."
And... seriously stupid. Not even people under the plate in Midgar went walking around with intentionally cut jeans like this. He shook his head, folding them back up and shoving them back onto the shelf.
"It's stupid, but... I can kind of see the appeal," he said, shrugging slightly as he moved on to jeans that were in one piece. "Not for what I need them for, though."
He grabbed a couple different washes to try, especially one in black. Look, he knew he looked good in black.
He wasn't so certain about wearing all black, despite his uniform was. Fortunately black went with everything, and he picked out shirts that were muted in color; beiges, blues, greys.
"I think... it's a statement," he began, satisfied with what he picked out. "It's showing off part of yourself, while still mostly covered. It's... like stating this is who you are, but keeping the more important parts to yourself."
"I should do the same." He went into a different fitting room, tried the clothes on and examined himself in the mirror. He unbuttoned the shirt. Much better.
He came out, idly curious as to what Cloud would think of the outfit.
The jeans... weren't bad. Tighter than what he was used to, seeing how puffy the pants of the SOLDIER uniform were, but they flexed appropriately as he dipped down in a few squats. The shirts were loose on him, giving him enough freedom of movement in the event he ever ended up in a fight. He nodded to himself, stepping outside to check himself in the bigger mirror outside.
He stopped dead when he saw Sephiroth, eyes widening slightly. The man really could look good in everything, and it took a supreme effort not to reach out and touch.
Cloud hesitated, not sure how to even respond. He fidgeted, feeling no where near as classy as Sephiroth looked, not sure he deserved to be called good looking. He scratched at the back of his head, feeling embarrassed, and... quickly retreated back into his changing room.
Sephiroth chuckled to himself and also returned to his to change back into his regular clothes. He placed the new ones in the cart to purchase. Then he thought of something else. Perhaps he should get some shoes to have something other than thigh-length boots to wear….

“Is there anything else you would like?” he said at the conclusion.

He continued idly looking at the clothes. Nothing really interested him yet.

“Perhaps a button-down that I could … unbutton.”
