Cloud nodded at that, letting go of Sephiroth's wrist before standing up. He still glanced over at his weirdly bare shoulder, making a face at it, but he didn't move to grab up his own pauldron.
Cloud followed after him, remembering to grab his own gloves on the way out. Making it down to the street, he let Sephiroth take point on where to go, following by his side to the grocery store.
After a block, his fingers absently brushed against Sephiroth's.
After the next block, he had threaded his fingers through his.
Cloud was just going with it; he wasn't picky about where the shopping was done, so long as he got what he needed.
He smiled faintly as Sephiroth squeezed his hand; it... really felt nice. Even without the calming feeling, it still felt nice.
Arriving at the store, Cloud found himself a little distracted in the parking lot. Some kind of biker group must have been in the store, because there was a line of motorcycles parked amongst the different cars. He paused to eye them with interest, though he ended up stumbling a little after not giving Sephiroth a warning that he was stopping. He had the grace to look a little embarrassed, though.
Cloud waved off the apology -- he was the one that hadn't warned him, after all -- before turning his attention back to the bikes.
"I liked the Hardy Daytona I drove out of the Shinra building," he confessed. "I was just thinking, a motorcycle would be nice to do some of the delivery requests out there."
Cloud at least had the grace to look embarrassed at assuming Sephiroth didn't know how vehicle lots worked. At the mention of the weird currency though, he absently raised his hand, the faint glow of his current... whatever it was poking out slightly from under his glove. It was definitely one of the stranger ways to pay for things, he'd give him that much.
Cloud pinked slightly in embarrassment, wondering how long it would be before Sephiroth let that one go, before he nodded meekly, following him inside.
Cloud peered at the list, curious what the almighty SOLDIER general would buy for food. Naturally, he didn't have a list; he was more of a person to purchase food on vibes alone.
Chocolate, hunh...? He wondered if Sephiroth had a sweet tooth, or if he just liked chocolate. What kind of chocolate did he like? He found himself paying rapt attention to what Sephiroth ended up buying, like he was trying to memorize his preferences; why, he didn't know, but it kind of felt important to know what he would like?
Most of Cloud's own shopping leaned more toward vegetables and meats, eggs, milk... he had originally grabbed a basket on the way in, but ended up coopting part of Sephiroth's cart when the basket got too unwieldy to carry.
Cloud's face scrunched up as he evaluated what he picked out for himself. He wasn't much for sweets or snacks, but he did grab some crackers that sounded okay. After a moment, he nodded to himself.
"I think I'm good," he replied. "Want to look over the clothing now?"
Oh no, something worse happened than Cloud's mind diving in the gutter: his mouth ran off before his brain could catch up.
"Just because you look good in leather, doesn't mean you should wear it all the time," he said... before he realized what just spewed out of his mouth. Said mouth worked up and down a moment, trying to find some excuse for what he blurted out, only to end up clamping shut with a click.
He turned toward the clothes, muttering about finding something for himself.
Sephiroth blinked in surprise and then smiled, a bit amused, a bit touched. “Oh, I see. And what would you recommend I might wear instead?” He idly looked over the racks they were by.

He smiled a bit to see what Cloud was looking at. “You like those?” His Cloud back home certainly did.

He shrugged after a moment, shaking his head.
"Besides, I don't exactly have that much money."
